The event was organised by the Hospital del Salvador, the SSVSA Subdepartment of Mental Health and the Universidad de Valparaíso Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship. Fanny Leyton delivered a lecture on ‘Early attachments, mistreatment and personality development’, together with Paulina Pizarro Barrera, who holds a master’s degree in child and Adolescent Clinical Practice. The presentation underlined the importance of early intervention and of understanding the psycho-emotional factors that influence the development of children’s mental health. In addition, they analysed approach strategies and preventive models with a view to improving the efficiency of interventions and allowing therapeutic work to be effectively carried out.
The conference provided a space for reflection and discussion on best practices in child and adolescent psychiatry, providing useful tools for clinical work and networking.
